/wave TO SAY HI
Hey there! I'm Ken.
👋 I've probably spent too much time chatting on discord.
🦖 I've definitely spent too much time breeding dinos in ARK
😬 I've most certainly spent too much time listening to audiobooks and podcasts (Currently listening to DCC)
Who am I as a designer?
I used to call myself a generalist. I've since realized I'm something closer to a specialist with range. Every discipline I work across is equipped towards one goal: making games the get to how players feel. Fun and enjoyment are my primary weapons of choice. Behavioral science, systems design, and UX fill out the rest of the kit, all spec'd to build systems that give players room to find and enjoy their own way.

Purposeful
Form follows Function.
Every design decision traces back to a human feeling or outcome.

Translational
I move fluidly between scientific frameworks and lived experiences, making each legible to the other.

Immersive
Active, multi-sensory participation where people feel agency within the designed experience.
Here's the TL/DR...
I’m originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and after earning my Bachelor’s in Architecture from Florida A&M, I set off on an adventure that’s taken me across the U.S. and Europe, tackling all kinds of design challenges. I'm a lifelong gamer "For the Horde!", loving husband, and a dad of two little rug monsters.
I've worked across a lot of ground, from architectural visualizations and MMORPGs, to VR trainings for law enforcement. That range made me value collaboration, and specifically feedback. Not just hearing it, but integrating it. If I don't know something, I say so and figure out how to close the gap.

I'm a firm believer that immersive play beats realistic simulation every day of the week, especially when designing for growth, exploration, or just plain fun.
